Who Should Attend?
This course is suitable for all workers that have been elected as a Workplace Health and Safety Representative; attained the course competency 30630QLD (within the past 18 months) and who wish to become a Qualified Workplace Health and Safety Representative (able to issue PINs).
This course would also be suitable for managers who wish to understand PINs.
The content of this short course will be incorporated into the 30630QLD course.
Purpose
The ability of Qualified Safety Representatives (QWHSR) to iissue PINs will be enacted in mid 2009. This will be introduced into the Workplace Health and Safety Act to assist and empower QWHSRs in the resolution of safety issues. Up until this time a WHSR was entitled to ask an inspector to review a workplace issue - now, a QWHSR has the power to issue a notice on their employer.
Entry Requirements
30630QLD Course in Functioning as a Workplace Health and Safety Representative that is not more than 18 months old.
Copy of certificate required prior to enrolment.
Course Outcomes
Identify and apply relevant workplace health and safety information relevant to workplace or area of representation.
Apply consultative methods and issue resolution mechanisms.
Apply the correct process regarding issuing of PINs.
