Face to Face - 5 days plus assignment work

Online - Self-paced in your time at work or home

Who Should Attend?

The Diploma of OHS is recommended, but not limited to, individuals who have completed 30596QLD Workplace Health & Safety Officer; BSB41407 Cert IV OHS or similar qualification.  The Diploma would also suit a person who has had significant experience in occupational health and safety throughout their career.

Entry Requirements

There are no restrictions on entry to this course however participants are required to have sufficient numeracy and literacy skills to read and comprehend instruction for:

  • Referencing and understanding legislation, standards and codes of practice.
  • Assisting Government health and safety officials.
  • Preparing workplace health and safety reports.
  • Establishing appropriate educational programs.
  • Investigating work injuries, work caused illnesses and dangerous events.
  • Consulting with workers, employers and statutory health and safety officials.

Participants will also need access to a workplace to enable completion of learning and assessment activities.

 

Online Students:

As part of our ongoing commitment to Quality Assurance, All Participants wishing to undertake online studies with ACHS are required to complete a session with our Training Technician/Tutor in our Elluminate Virtual Office.

(Elluminate is a free service - no additional fees payable)

The session will take place upon submission of assessment. To participate in this session, participants will need to have access to a webcam.

Participants who do not have access to a Webcam should contact the college to make alternate arrangements.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Any student who considers they are able to satisfy, prior to enrolment, the requirements of a particular Unit of Competency may consider RPL.  If they have grounds to substantiate their competency, then that student may be granted exemption from, or a credit towards a Unit of Competency.  Participants may be asked to demonstrate competency by completing applicable assessment activities.

Assessment and Award

Participants who demonstrate competency by passing both the theory and practical assessments will receive a ‘Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety’ issued by the ACH&S.

Participants who complete individual units will receive a ‘Statement of Attainment’ for those units

Diploma Assessment Support

ACHS is understanding towards participant learning needs. Our trainers will work with you to ensure your needs are met whilst meeting the course requirements. By enrolling into an ACHS Diploma course, you are entitled to attend Diploma of OHS support days offered. These support days are offered face to face, at the ACHS Training centre, or online (via Elluminate) and allow you to:

- Work with trainers in a face to face environment
- Ask questions about assessment pieces
