Who Should Attend?
All levels of management whose workplace involves shiftwork, particularly those with roles and responsibilities in the area of line haul. NTC legislation places obligations on all parties in the chain of responsibility, including employers, directors, consignors, consignees and loading managers & supervisors.
Purpose
The National Transport Commission's new legislation for line haul drivers comes into effect from the 29th September 2008. The legislation sets revised work and rest hours as well as enhancing the focus on proactive management of driver fatigue. This course is designed to provide trainees with an overview of Fatigue Management strategies, procedures and appropriate Workplace Health & Safety management practices.
Entry Requirements
There are no restrictions on entry to this course, however participants are required to have sufficient numeracy and literacy skills to read and comprehend instruction for:
- Referencing and understanding legislation, standards and codes of practice
- Documenting workplace health and safety hazard reports
- Consulting with workers and employers at the level required for risk management
