Who Should Attend?
This course is aimed at people who work, or wish to work, as Workplace Health and Safety Officers at a Serviced-Based workplace in accordance with the provisions of the Workplace Health and Safety Act 1995. Organisations with 30 or more workers are required to appoint a Workplace Health & Safety Officer.
The course is also suitable for Supervisors and Managers as they have a responsibility for workers and are required to understand the requirements of the Workplace Health and Safety Act 1995.
This course is also suitable for workers who have been elected as Safety Representatives for their workplace.
Entry Requirements
Satisfactorily completing the WHSO Core is a prerequisite for WHSO/06 (Service-Based)
Course Outcomes
This course is designed to enable participants to have the skills and competencies to:
- Satisfy the requirements to qualify as a Workplace Health and Safety Officer
- Identify and prioritise service-based hazards
- Complete an inspection/assessment report in accordance with best practice
- Consult with relevant parties regarding compliance issues relating to statutory requirements
- Assist relevant parties in the implementation of control measures
- Monitor and review the effectiveness of control measures

Assessment and Award
Participants who demonstrate competency by passing both the theory and practical assessments will receive a Statement of Attainment ‘Course in Functioning as a Workplace Health and Safety Officer – Units – WHSO/06 issued by the ACH&S.
Participants will also receive an Assessment Report Form. This form enables participants to then make application to WHSQ to become a certified Workplace Health & Safety Officer.

Fees
$420.00 including applicable GST. Comprehensive student notes and light lunch provided.
Participants are required to bring fully amended copies of the Workplace Health & Safety Act and Regulations, as supplied on the Core course
