Workers wear brunt of turndown - Opportunity to secure your future.

WORKERS are being urged to upgrade their skills and consider new training options as businesses face a brutal start to a financially difficult 2009.

"Come February and March I think it's going to be very tough for people,"…

…”Office and admin workers, support services and some managerial positions could be at threat”…

…”Queensland Treasurer Andrew Fraser said he… predicted another 13,000 jobs would be lost in Queensland by the end of June.”…

…”Office-based staff should consider adapting their skills to the areas where job opportunities were still growing.”…

So…Lets have a moment to think! What does this mean for you? How hard will the economic downturn affect you, your family and your career? What’s next?

If you are looking at expanding your knowledge, or looking for something that will separate you from the rest, why not consider an Occupational Health and Safety qualification. With all the hoop la happening in Australia at the moment, one thing that will remain the same, legislation, and that requires people like you to drive it in the workplace.

With the news in the press “Rio Tinto slashing jobs’, ‘BHP cutting back’, ‘Retail giants prepare for the worst’ I could bet that staff with a safety background or qualification are still there.

Do something different, learn something new. Who knows, this could be the start of a new career in OHS.
